PERIODICALS

TELSİZ

Telsiz (Wireless) is one of the first radio magazines published during the era of Turkish Republic. Türk Telsiz Telefon Anonim Şirketi (The Turkish Wireless Telephone Company), which was the founder of Turkey’s first radio station, published the magazine in 18 issues between June and November 1927. Published four years after the foundation of the Turkish Republic, Telsiz is an important witness to Turkey’s early encounter with the wireless technology.

The original periodical is in Ottoman Turkish and as part of this project, historian Nihal Boztekin transliterated the issues into Modern Turkish and graphic designer Hilal Rakıcı prepared the layout design.
